Our Founder and Managing Director Yasin Polat delivered a talk at the “Data-Driven World” session organized by IEEE Beykent University PES, focusing on the role of AI and data-driven systems in modern decision-making.
Not the Model, but the Problem Definition
“The real problem in AI projects is not the model, but the problem definition.”
Polat emphasized that the main challenge lies not in technical limitations, but in how data is processed and how problems are defined. Models disconnected from decision points fail to deliver practical value.
Data and Decision-Making
“Data does not create value on its own; it must be connected to decision-making.”
He noted that when data processes are detached from decision mechanisms, the impact of model outputs decreases. In data-informed approaches, data should support human intuition rather than replace it.
The Shift to Agentic AI
“15% of business decisions will be made by autonomous AI systems.”
He highlighted the growing role of agentic AI in business decision-making, signaling a shift toward systems capable of taking decisions and action.
